Two One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jugs, Southern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and streaky brown alkaline glaze, impressed "O" on handle, Edgefield, South Carolina origin; paired with a cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, covered in a dark alkaline glaze, impressed "JY" on handle for Crawford County, Georgia, potter, James Yaughn. Edgefield jug with restored spout and restored section to shoulder area. Yaughn jug with two spout chips and some light surface wear.
