Two Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA", NY State origin, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form with tooled shoulder and squared spout, each decorated with a similar slip-trailed design of a crested bird, one perched on a stylized branch and the other perched on a flowering vine. One with wear and a tiny chip to edge of spout, light surface wear, an in-the-firing contact mark to bird's beak, heavy staining, and some brown residue to left side. The other with surface wear, fry to cobalt, some touch-up to cobalt, a glazed-over ping at base, a filled base chip, a short line at base, and a minor spout chip.
