Rare Glazed Redware Apothecary Jar with Lid, attributed to Nathaniel Seymour, East Hartford, CT, late 18th or early 19th century, cylindrical jar with tapered shoulder and squared rim, decorated at the shoulder with the yellow slip number, "31". Surface covered in a clear lead glaze over a dark-red ground. Includes a late 19th century glazed stoneware lid. Flecks of glaze loss to jar, primarily at base. Wear to top edge of rim. A tight, short hairline from rim, extending diagonally to the tapered shoulder. Some light wear to surface. Lid in excellent condition. H (excluding lid) 9".
