Stoneware Inkwell with Elaborate Cobalt Stripe Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1830, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder and rounded spout, decorated with vertical stripes around the body, stripes descending from the spout, and cobalt banding around the shoulder and base of the spout. A long, thin crack on underside, continuing 1" up one side and 7/8" up opposite side. Two in-the-firing lines at base. H 2" ; Diam. 2 3/4".
