Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON / & / JONES / GREENSBORO, / PA", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled foliate motifs and stenciled triangle design surrounding Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling. Base with stenciled "4" flanked by foliate motifs. Excellent condition with two small chips to one handle.
