One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to G. & A. Black, Somerfield, PA, circa 1865, ovoid jar with flattened rim and tooled accents to body and shoulder, decorated around the shoulder with six hoof-shaped floral devices. Impressed at the shoulder with a "1" underscored by a stroke of cobalt slip. A 2 1/4" rim chip. Base chips. One large, smooth contact mark on two sides. Jar is slightly misshapen.
