Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Lidded Jar with Applied Grapes Motif, Signed "AM", Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1965, squat-shaped, ovoid jar decorated on the front and reverse with an applied clay decoration of a grape cluster flanked by leaves. Surface covered in a light, gray-green alkaline glaze with olive leaves. Original lid with large, bulb-shaped finial, the surface covered in a mottled green alkaline glaze. Underside inscribed in black, "AM", for Cleveland, GA potter, Arie Meaders. Jar in excellent condition. Lid with a firing crack to underside, not visible on top surface, in otherwise excellent condition. H (including lid) 7 5/8".
