One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES, UTICA.", NY State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a salt drip to right of bird.
