One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped BINGHAMTON, N.Y.", William Roberts, Binghamton, NY, circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a long-necked bird perched on a vine. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a few small in-the-firing chips to base on reverse.
