Rare Molded Stoneware Fish Packers Crock, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, circa 1890, cylindrical crock with impressed Greek key border, the front featuring the impressed advertising, "S. SCHMIDT & CO. / FISH PACKERS. / 148, 150 AND 152 WEST 19TH ST. / NEW YORK.". Advertising surrounded by three medallions representing different exhibitions, including bust, classical, and fish designs. Impressed advertising and decorations highlighted in cobalt slip over a Bristol slip glaze. Among the more desirable advertising crocks from this well-known New York State stoneware producer. A 7/8" rim chip on reverse. A minor nick to interior of rim. A very faint and minor X-shaped surface line on underside, not visible on interior and likely in-the-firing. H 5 1/2" ; Diameter 6 1/2".
