One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Dove Decoration, Stamped "FRANK B NORTON / WORCESTER MASS." circa 1880, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dove perched on a leaf with additional leaf above. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and light cobalt highlight to incising at shoulder. This crock is an unusually small size for this well-known Worcester motif. A few small chips to interior of rim. Two tiny nicks to left handle. Some staining to surface. A very faint 2" Y-shaped surface line to side of crock.
