Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, small-sized, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with the stenciled advertising, "JOHN McCULLOUGH. / WINES / LIQUORS. / 127 LIBERTY / PITTS. PA.". A glazed-over spout chip, a small unglazed spout chip, and some minor in-the-firing spout wear. A 2 1/8" smooth, in-the-firing contact mark. A small piece of adhered in-the-firing clay to shoulder. H 9 1/2".
