One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Swag Decoration, Stamped "W.H. LEHEW & CO. / STRASBURG, VA", circa 1870, semi-ovoid pitcher with tooling to body and collar, decorated around the body and on each side of the collar with a finely-brushed swag design. Spout decorated with four cobalt dashes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Desirable form and size. Spout chips. A few chips and tiny nicks to rim. Some very faint lines on underside, extending a short distance onto base. H 9 1/2".
