One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, N.Y.", circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with tooled shoulder and rounded rim molding, the front decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a flower bud emanating from a leafy stem. Brushed cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Heavy chipping to spout and rim. A 1 3/8" line from rim on side of pitcher.
