Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Brown Slip Decoration, NC origin, probably Craven Family, fourth quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, heavily-decorated in brownish slip with haphazard wavy stripes. Slip decoration of any kind on North Carolina stoneware is unusual. Excellent condition with minor chips to bottom edge.
