Rare Quart-Sized Stoneware Jug, Stamped "H. FOX", Chatham County, NC, third quarter 19th century, small-sized, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, the surface covered in a mottled salt glaze. Impressed at shoulder with Himer Fox maker's mark below the stamp, "1", although this piece is actually one-quarter gallon. Large section of handle broken and reglued. Otherwise excellent condition with some light wear to interior of spout. H 7 1/2".
