Two Pieces of Slip-Decorated Redware, Incised "H S", Henry Schofield, Cecil County, MD, circa 1930, an ovoid sugar bowl with original glazed lid and an open-handled vase, both with dipped yellow slip decoration and a manganese stripe at base, each covered in a clear lead glaze. Sugar bowl incised on front and reverse with Henry Schofield initials, the vase incised on front with his initials. A fine pair, featuring matching decoration with bold color. Vase with some rim and handle wear. Sugar bowl and lid in excellent condition with minor wear. H (of vase) 4".
