Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, OH origin, circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tapered rim molding, decorated with a brushed cobalt design of a plant or tree emanating from a mound of earth. Impressed "2" above. Excellent condition with a tiny chip to interior of spout, a shallow in-the-firing flake to top of right side of spout, and a 5/8" in-the-firing surface chip / contact mark to reverse.
