Four Pieces of Westerwald Stoneware, German origin, 19th century, two cobalt-decorated bird whistles; a cobalt-decorated pitcher with incised floral motifs; and a small cobalt-decorated jar, inscribed "8". Provenance: From a recently-surfaced NC collection, purchased by the consignor decades ago; smaller bird whistle ex-Barry Cohen Collection; pitcher ex-George & Helen VanKennen Collection, Denlinger Auctions, April 13, 1985. Smaller bird whistle in excellent condition. Larger bird whistle with restorations. Pitcher with rim chips, a small spout chip, and a minor base chip. Jar with a faint 3 1/4" line from rim and staining to surface. H (of smaller bird whistle) 2 7/8"; H (of pitcher) 12 1/4".
