Fine Slip-Decorated Redware Charger, Inscribed "William + Mary", Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, with tooled edge, the interior featuring the large yellow-slip inscription, "William + Mary", with dramatic looping flourish to the "W" in "William". Some light haze to interior surface. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor as a child, seventy-five years ago. Edge chips. Some stained flakes to interior. Diameter 12 1/4".
