Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Sunflower Decoration, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN", Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed floral motif in the Alexandria style, including unusual spotted details to the blossom. Reverse decorated with four vertical foliate motifs. A large Y-shaped line on underside, which includes a faint line extending a short distance onto base. Reverse with a long, diagonal in-the-firing line extending through a deep, 2" in-the-firing chip.
