One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "A. STATES", Stonington, CT origin, first quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and around the handle terminals. Very nice condition with a few small base chips, a small spout chips and minor spout nicks, and a few typical in-the-firing flaws to surface.
