Two Rustic Stoneware Planters, One Marked "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.", circa 1875, both in the form of a tree stump, the larger example with brown-and-green slip decoration under salt glaze and several openings for planting, the smaller example with brown slip decoration and twig-form handles. Impressed signature to larger example. Larger example with restored cracks throughout and unrestored crazing to underside. Smaller example in excellent condition with minor base chips. H (of larger planter) 13 1/2".
