Rare Miniature Stoneware Souvenir Mug, Impressed "5TH REGIMENT FAIR / ATLANTA, GA", attributed to the White's Pottety, Utica, NY, late 19th or early 20th century, molded mug with relief vine and shield motifs, impressed "5TH REGIMENT FAIR / ATLANTA, GA". Surface covered in Bristol slip and decorated with cobalt highlights throughout. The Fifth Regiment Fair took place May 6-11, 1907, in Atlanta to raise funds for a trip to attend Georgia Day at the Jamestown Exposition in Norfolk, Virginia. As part of this large, World's Fair-type expo, states were honored on particular days; Georgia's day was June 10, 1907, and it saw President Roosevelt attend and give a speech. Relatively few examples of White's Utica stoneware made for the Southern market are known. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing 3/8" drip of brown glaze to handle. H 3 1/4".
