Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Floral Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, the front decorated with a stenciled design of a branch bearing a central flower flanked by leaves. Brushed cobalt dash and stripe above. Small chips to inner wax sealer rim. Two small glazed-over lines to base. A small in-the-firing lime ping to base. H 8 3/8".
