Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Floral Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated on the front with a finely-stenciled design of a flowering plant, situated between freehand stripes. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing chip to top of rim, beside a glazed-over dent top of rim, with two associated fissures to side of rim. Minor wear to inner wax sealer rim. H 8".
