Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Foliate Decoration, Stamped "J. WEAVER", Beaver, PA origin, circa 1865, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with an abstract slip-trailed vine motif flanked by a wavy lines, applied over a light slip coating. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals and maker's mark. Some fry to cobalt. Three minor chips to interior of rim. Wear to inner rim for lid. Some staining to reverse.
