Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Stenciled Pear Motif, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY. CO / PALATINE / WVA", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim with "wax sealer" interior, the front decorated with a stenciled pear surrounding the maker's stenciling, "PALATINE POTTERY. CO / PALATINE / WVA". Two small in-the-firing rim chips. A small chip and tiny nick to inner wax sealer rim. Minor drips of green paint to shoulder. H 8 5/8".
