Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a series of brushed clovers above a wavy horizontal stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and a curved line of cobalt underneath each handle. Heavy chipping to rim. A thin 3" crack from rim. Surface lines on underside, not visible on interior, one of which continues 1" onto base of crock.
