Quart-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1840, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the midsection with a swag and hanging flower design. Collar decorated with brushed flower blossoms below a wavy cobalt stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Loss to spout. Horizontal hairline to handle. An in-the-firing chip to handle. A short hairline to side of spout. H 7".
