Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, first half 19th century, a small-sized, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and cobalt stripe below rim, Northeastern U.S. origin, early 19th century; paired with a cylindrical jug with squared spout and thickly-brushed, cobalt-slip tulip motif. Jar with large, tight inverted Y-shaped line extending from base and small, tight Y-shaped surface line to shoulder, not visible on interior. Jug in excellent condition with a shallow in-the-firing contact mark to top of spout and two minor spout nicks. H (of jar) 8".
