Slip-Decorated Redware Bank, Inscribed "J.H. / 1895", English origin, 1895, ovoid bank with footed base and stepped finial surrounded by hand-modeled and applied chickens, the front incised with the initials and date, "J.H. / 1893". Surface covered in yellow slip, decorated with copper daubs, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Professional restoration to finial, slot area, and parts of two applied chickens. A few chips to applied chickens. A base chip. H 4 3/4".
