Ten-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO, / PA", circa 1880, large-sized, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand stripes and vining above T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling and a series of stenciled foliate motifs. Base with freehand "10", flanked by flourishes, above a wavy freehand stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A large filled area to base/underside on reverse, with cracks emanating from it. A sealed, inverted Y-shaped crack, descending approximately 13 1/2" down front of jar. A tight 7" inverted Y-shaped line to right side of jar's front. H 20 3/4".
