Rare Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "UPTON M. BELL / Waynesboro, PA.", circa 1895, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, the surface covered in a heavily-flecked lead-and-manganese glaze. A difficult-to-find maker's mark, symbolic of the final years of the Bells' Waynesboro, PA pottery. A long, curving restored crack from rim on reverse. A restored 3 1/4" crack from rim to left of maker's mark. Two additional restored chips to exterior of rim. Some additional minor rim wear. H 5 7/8".
