Unusual Small-Sized Stoneware Jug, Stamped "W RUTH", probably William Mark Ruth, Randolph County, NC, circa 1860, ovoid jug with footed base and tall, flaring spout, the surface covered in a salt glaze. Impressed with "W RUTH" or "W C. RUTH" maker's mark on reverse. Restored handle. A minor base nick. A small in-the-firing iron ping near base on front. A 2" flake to underside, which is glazed over, a small portion of which is visible when jug is standing upright.
