Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Drape Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK", circa 1810, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout and ribbed strap handle, decorated on the shoulder with a brushed stylized drape motif including a spot on the interior of each. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Provenance: Collection of Harry Meyer, McDonald, PA. Spider crack on reverse continuing onto front of jug. In-the-firing, glazed-over wear to base.
