Rare Stoneware Ring Jug with Incised and Impressed Decoration, Manhattan, NY or possibly NJ origin, early 19th century, ring-shaped drinking vessel with applied spout, the shoulder decorated with two incised, undulating tulip plants, highlighted in reddish-brown manganese or iron slip. Area below spout decorated on each side with a triangular group of incised and brown-slip-highlighted circles. A scarce American stoneware form featuring strong early-period decoration. Spout restored. Otherwise excellent condition. L 11 1/2".
