Rare Large-Sized Yellowware Figure of a Cat, Ohio origin, circa 1850-1880, molded figure of a seated cat on oval base, decorated with streaks of copper and manganese over yellow clay and covered in a clear glaze. Finely-incised details to face. Additional incised details to feet. One ear restored. Restoration to base, extending from right side to middle of base's front. This restoration does not extend through to the interior or underside and likely covers a series of surface flakes to facade of base. Two small base chips. H 10 3/4" ; W (of base) 10 1/4".
