Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, WV origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a freehand cobalt "3" flanked by flourishes. Decorated above and below with dashed bands of cobalt. In-the-firing dryness to surface. Small in-the-firing separations to handle terminals. A 3" vertical line at base, continuing approximately 3" onto underside.
