Outstanding Large-Sized Redware Flowerpot with Ring Handles, PA origin, 19th century, with narrow base, ovoid body with recessed banding, coved rim, and applied ring handles, the body and rim decorated with inverted V and scored coggled treatments. Additional scored embellishments to ring handles. Surface covered in a reddish lead-and-manganese glaze. Excellent size, form, and decoration. Colored chips and wear to rim. A colored chip to lower molding at midsection and a minor colored flake to upper molding at midsection. A few small, uncolored rim chips. Other expected light wear to handles and coggling. H 7 3/8" ; Diameter (across top) 9 3/8".
