Stoneware Cake Crock attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, approximately one to one-and-a-half-gallon cylindrical crock with heavily-tooled shoulder and ribbed lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with two brushed flowers emanating from leafy stem. Brushed wavy line decoration to shoulder. Handle terminals decorated with cobalt highlights along with a wavy line of cobalt underneath each handle. Excellent condition with a small chip to interior of rim, a nick to exterior of rim, and a small in-the-firing lime ping near base on one side.
