Rare Large-Sized PHILA. PICKLING CO. Stoneware Jar, American, early 20th century, cylindrical jar with tapered neck, semi-squared rim, and banded cobalt decoration over a Bristol-slip ground, featuring the navy blue advertising, "PHILA. PICKLING CO. / 260-262-264 SO. 2ND ST. / SPANISH QUEEN OLIVES / STANDARD MIXED PICKLES / SWEET MIXED PICKLES / SWEET GHERKINS. SPICED PICKLES / SAUER KRAUT / GERMAN STYLE DILL PICKLES / PEPPER SAUCE (SPICED CABBAGE). Indented circular impression at the shoulder indicates this jar once had a metal bail handle or sealing mechanism attached. Very nice condition with a few small chips to inner rim and some light surface wear. H 17 1/4".
