Four-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Incised Floral Decoration, Manhattan, NY origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, flared collar, and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with an incised and cobalt-highlighted floral design featuring a leafy stem bearing a clustered blossom resembling grapes. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased by the consignor decades ago. Rim chips.
