Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, one-quart and half-gallon jars, both of cylindrical form with tooled shoulders and semi-squared rims, featuring similar drooping floral motifs around the shoulder. Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. Smaller jar with an approximately 3 1/4" x 1 1/8" area of fine-grained exfoliation near base, some flakes to Albany slip on interior base, and a minor nick to bottom edge. Larger jar with a 2 1/4" inverted Y-shaped hairline from rim, a minor rim chip, a very faint 1" surface line at base, not visible on interior, and a shallow chip to underside at edge. H (of smaller jar) 7 1/4".
