Unusual Sewer Tile Figure of a Dog, Ohio origin, possibly Crooksville, possibly Crooksville, late 19th or early 20th century, molded in the form of a seated boxer or St. Bernard with incised details to face and paws, the surface covered in a heavy salt glaze. Underside incised in large letters, "H W". This figure is produced from the same mold as the well-known blue-and-white stoneware dogs from Crooksville, Ohio. Very nice condition with a base chip on reverse, possibly in-the-firing. H 5 1/2".
