Two Small-Sized Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Southeastern PA origin, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form, a quart-sized jar, decorated with three hanging flowers, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, paired with a half-gallon jar, also decorated with three hanging flowers, probably R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA. Smaller jar with rim chips, two in-the-firing base chips, and some in-the-firing surface flaws. Larger jar with a small, smooth base chip, probably in-the-firing, a minor iron ping to base, and a curving crack extending from rim to midsection. H (of smaller jar) 6 3/4".
