Three-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Jar with Iron-Oxide Decoration, Stamped "BOSTON", Frederick Carpenter, Boston, MA, circa 1793-1797, highly-ovoid jar with footed base heavily-tooled shoulder, and open loop handles, featuring a dipped iron-oxide slip decoration extending from rim to shoulder as well as highlighting the base area. Scattered exfoliation. A 4 1/4" curved in-the-firing flake to bottom edge. Rim chips. A short line to rim on front.
