Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK", early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with cloud-like cobalt brushwork surrounding the cobalt-highlighted maker's mark of Clarkson Crolius, Sr. Brushed cobalt highlight to lower handle terminal. Two adjacent spout chips, one on interior and one on exterior, along with a 1" line extending along top of spout. Some small, typical in-the-firing flaws. Light wear to surface.
