Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1885, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "JOS. FLEMING & SON / WHOLESALE & RETAIL / DRUGGISTS & LIQUOR DEALERS. / MARKET ST. / PITTSBURGH. PA.". Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a small collection of Pittsburgh advertising stoneware consigned to this auction. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a tiny base nick.
