Two Pieces of Stoneware, Northeastern U.S. origin, fourth quarter 19th century, a five-gallon jug with impressed and cobalt-highlighted swan motif, below the advertising, "A.G. SMALLEY & Co / No. 18 Blackstone St., / BOSTON", attributed to Gardiner Stoneware Co., Gardiner, ME; paired with a four-gallon jug with elaborate slip-trailed floral spray, impressed "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO.". Boston advertising jug with a 1" flake to side of spout and a salt drip to side. New York Stoneware Company jug with some fry to cobalt and a salt drip to reverse.
